Fujiyama Commissions 2 GW Solar Module Factory in Madhya Pradesh
Production Begins at Scale
Fujiyama Power Systems has commenced commercial production at its 2 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The factory produces both monocrystalline PERC and N-type TOPCon modules in wattage classes ranging from 540 W to 590 W, catering to utility-scale, C&I, and residential rooftop segments.
The facility is equipped with automated stringing, soldering, and electroluminescence testing lines, enabling production of approximately 5,500 modules per day at full capacity. Madhya Pradesh's favourable industrial policy, including power subsidies, land allocation, and state-level incentives, was a decisive factor in site selection.
Strengthening the Domestic Supply Chain
India's solar module manufacturing capacity has expanded rapidly under the PLI scheme and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) requirement. Fujiyama's 2 GW addition brings India's total module assembly capacity closer to 60 GW per annum, well ahead of current annual installation rates. However, the upstream supply chain for cells, wafers, and polysilicon remains heavily dependent on imports.
For Buyers
Domestic module availability is now abundant, and pricing is competitive with imported alternatives. Buyers specifying ALMM-listed modules for government-subsidised projects or SECI tenders benefit from assured quality certification and eligibility compliance. Residential buyers should confirm that their installer sources ALMM-listed panels to remain eligible for PM Surya Ghar subsidies.
